I have a suspicion that the links from the 18mm bracelet will probably fit these and they are not so hard or expensive to find.
I don't have my Sala next to me, what about this one, apart from wrong sub and chrono sec hands, and not evenly used pushers? http://www.ebay.com/itm/182186091986Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Thanks LouS, I have been working hard on spotting them, and unlike other ones it was not obvious for me on that one, so thanks again
Curious as to what gave it away for you LouS? It looks pretty good to me except the one 4 in the left register is different from the rest.
A number of give aways. Subdials look a bit not shapely. The ink on the numerals are also not neat, 0, 6 and 8, the round shapes are wobbly. Allow me to provide a link to a proper example to compare. https://omegaforums.net/threads/1930s-compur.9872/#post-129520
This is an interesting on. However, no reference or serial ... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262509819874?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:ITPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
I agree with your findings. However, although the sala book is a very good reference, it is not complete. It is puzzling how such a rare combination could have been missed though ... I am on the side of caution on this one. The owner stated that the reference and serial had polished away. Doubtful. On such an early reference, they were chiseled on. What surprises me is the position of the calendar and moonphase set buttons which match the 287 movement. It would have taken some work to get those to match up. What I am also not so sure of is the extent that the set buttons stick out. Unusual ...
Ok, so maybe the date and chronograph seconds hands are replaced. Still... the price is very reasonable. And I believe it's been serviced. http://mentawatches.com/inventory/universal-geneve-dato-compax/
Does anyone else have doubts about this dial? I've bought from this seller before, and he seems to have endless amounts of UG, but this dial with a 139 movement just doesn't make sense to me. http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=7303276&rid=0
Hi Longtime lurker ........ I was following this auction and was surprised about the low interest and price. Any input for why, besides being from Italy? http://m.ebay.com/itm/Cronografo-vi...ronograph-JUST-SERVICED-/191923940679?txnId=0Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Thanks for the answer. Redial as in reprainting the numbers onto an imperfect dial or generating a totally wrong dial?
