Is this genuinely interesting or a hotchpotch of parts from different watches?

I was initially drawn to the unusual dial with the interesting emblem. Does anyone recognise it?
However the case reference number suggests it should be plated rather than stainless steel. It also seems odd to have a chronograph hand but no way of recording minutes/hours passed.

My offer was much lower ... case back is a 222xx which quite rightly is wrong!

Supposively it is the Argentina Air Force UG, there are many examples out there but to be frank, I have no idea whether they are bunch of fakes or the real deal. The fact that they are so many out there makes it feel real though....

Saw that last night and I passed on it, it's plated and the case back seems wrong as well. The other plated tri-compax that sold for 2,6k USD a couple weeks ago in ebay looks so much better than this.

My offer was much lower ... case back is a 222xx which quite rightly is wrong!

I'm not sure case back is wrong. Look at my 22258:

The case and lugs looks the same to me. It's highly unlikely that someone changed the original case back for one from a reference with the same case but in ss.

My bet is that an original ss watch that has been plated. It's a crazyness, i know, but this world is full of strange things...

I was betting my odds on that ...

That's a beauty!

If it was plated subsequently is there any way to reverse the process without damaging the case?

Hello, I am new to forum. Thanks for having me. Just need some views and recommendations on this one sold by an Italian ebayer. Looks great but almost too good to be true. I have also noticed some differences between reference picture and watch. Comments greatly appreciated. Thank-You all.

Very nice. These watches rarely match the reference photos exactly... UG kept things interesting by continually mixing up components. The reference is really only relevant to the case itself.

Maybe others disagree but dial doesn't look correct to me. Seems a dial from the 50's in a case from the 40's.

Here is my 22279 for reference:

Does this auction sounds "transparent" for you ? Only "private bids". Someone is artificially pushing the price up ?

Universal Geneve bracelet Gay Freres UM Endlinks

I suppose seller may want to protect bidder identities. Those bracelets with end links are very sought after. I can see that one reaching $1200 to $1600 and more easily. You don't have to bid so walk away if you dont like it. Bear in mind that eBay protects bidder names.

Just make sure you read the listing closely. The total length of the bracelet is 125mm or less than 5 inches. You better have wrists like a three year old or spare links laying around. Still, It's hard to find. I think Diabolik is right about the estimate.
