Ben Clymer is auctioning one of his Polerouters this weekend through Phillips:

This is great publicity for the UG relaunch, I wonder if it was coordinated.

It's a really beautiful piece in amazing condition--excited to see how much it goes for. Could help legitimize the price for a new Polerouter when they launch.

From the listing:

“Condition Report

Case:

The case is in near new condition and probably only worn a handful of times. The original “Limited Edition” sticker remains on the screw down back case. The case proportions are strong and lug bevels crisp. The gold hallmark is crisp. There is some light shallow surface wear.

Dial: The dial is clean and original.

Movement: The movement is running and the date changes correctly at midnight. We recommend servicing. Please note the watch has not been tested for accuracy.”

A beautiful find: this rare Universal Genève Chrono cal. 281, likely designed for women due to its relatively small size. Depending on the angle of light, the dial shifts between appearing as a uniform grey tone or revealing its exquisite two-tone design. Always a pleasure to come across such rare pieces ! 🥰

For most UG collectors, it’s not about accuracy—it’s about rarity, originality, and untouched pieces, preferably with box and papers. The limited edition sticker alone is worth at least the finest servicing. If you’re after precision, just grab a Swatch and call it a day!

So, an Omega then, because they are a Swatch brand?

Couple of (very) nice and interesting UG's appeared online in the last days.

Very interesting 22258. Highest serial of this batch I found. Tanknumber now at 150. https://live.piguet.com/lots/view/4...ses-de-lune-annes-1950mouvement-cal-481-mcani

Ref 12454. Absolute rarity. 1st one I saw. 14k Compax. https://www.ebay.com/itm/405384600654

The word NOS is one of the most abused in the watch world but this one may qualify. Extremely nice 5166 from the 2nd batch. Wonderful piece https://www.watchnet.co.jp/item/view/5866

Ref 22537 with savoy knot. Dial is not in the best condition but for a 36mm the asking price of EUR 2k is very reasonable:

Do you know what ask was on this? Seems to have sold before I got an answer
