A quick update and picture from my trusted friend @bgrisso who received the watch for me in the USA! The watch looks stunning; almost all the scratches seem to be on the plexi. I can’t wait to receive it! 😉

very confused by this caseback, what is going on? It's not threaded and just a pressure fit or something? Is this the original caseback that someone modified, or it's a replacement caseback that someone added case ref and serial?

it's from the first batch, early serial with snap back case.
Dial is not ok, of course

I didn't realize there were snapback spillman of this type of case.

why does the listing title say there is no case back?

This one is indeed from the 1st batch (753k). Next batch is 766k and then comes 804k. This one is the first one I’ve seen btw. And the first time of such a spillman case with snapback.

Here’s a 742xxx early Spillmann case 22409: https://bulangandsons.eu/products/u...el-spillmann-case-silver-dial-ref-22409-w2694

The 22410 referenced in one of the recent posts (on eBay) is also a 742xxx serial.

All these first series Spillmanns had the snapback.

New to the market spillini 22492 https://www.chrono24.nl/universalge...37109325.htm?searchHash=230953fd_KbHUIe&pos=1. 22492 was made in 3 batches: #1 of perhaps 175 pieces, #2 500-550, #3 unknown but max 150. I now have recorded 20 pieces so known survivor rate something in the region of 2.4%

I don't think that the dial is in very good condition.

Also case has some issues from my perspective - I don't think it's dirt:
