Valid point but the only 201.4xx movement I have on record is a 12258. Perhaps the orginal pushers were gold as well.
and the crown?

You may really have a point but IMHO it is most likely the case was scrapped.

Because they were gold 😉 Seller has over 6k items for sale so perhaps they wanted to create a complete package

I see you have an explanation for everything.

they wanted to create a complete package
That's why they removed some parts from the movement. Otherwise, the package would have been too complete 😁

Be careful not to fall into data bias with all your hard work capturing serials 👍

Chunkiest UG I've ever seen. Reference 12255? https://www.watchnet.co.jp/en/item/view/5416
Interesting on this one is that - based on the pic - it indeed looks like it has a 12255 inscription. Sala has a picture of 12256 which has imho the same case and also a 978.xxx serial. Also in the design pics it is called 12256. Whatever is: these 122xx variations with the chunky cases are rare birds (Sala says: model built few in number 🙄)

Following on the earlier discussion. The dial was found on ref 52214. I can only find one online but that has a 262.xxx movement serial and a 281 movement.

Now on ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/354303100596 According to the seller:
'The dial is clean with a scratch that runs across on the upper half (only visible at some angles). The lume has been professionally corrected to match perfectly with period correct material'.

Maybe. Read (I think) on Rolexforums that there is a US based relumer who does that albeit at a hefty price... I would describe this lume job as rather sloppy.

That price is in crazy town

Agreed. I’d say a very nice black one is 10k. With this dial - poor lume and scratch - 6/7k max
