Interest Zenith UG on C24: https://www.chrono24.nl/zenith/zenith-chronograph-vintage--id23648181.htm No pics of the CB and movement but I got them from the seller. Reference 12535. Seller does not want to disclose full serial but first 3 digits fit in my database (as well as the movement number). Movement is high finished. I'm nor sure about the dial. The Zenith font looks to be a bit off. Anyone an opinion?

Only 1 other to be found on google (but the link is dead). Some small res pics. Movement is also numbered and but seems not as finished as the above one (but that may be the picture). Serial blurred but I assume the first 3 digits are the same as the one above ;-)

Edit: Found another one: https://m.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.868169099896885.1073742096.255899857790482&type=3

Interesting Zenith. Numbered movement so most likely UG made. Number indicates a serial around 810k

Something seems off about this one IMO. The sub dials have small ‘dots’ that don’t quite line up with the lines and appear to have painted over. The lines for counting telephone time are more 1950s but the case is a 1930s version. The sweep hand is a replacement. Of course these are observations from someone who is awake at 5am on a holiday and who’s eyes are half open.

Bit of a strange one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165506968971?hash=item2688fbed8b:g:b-sAAOSwuipik5Pz
Can't recall I've seen Prima on the dial. Marked CB but no marked movement.

Prima is definitely a thing - we even have one on the Tre tacche thread here:

https://omegaforums.net/threads/universal-tre-tacche-colonial-wristwatch.75152/

The watch is clearly 30s rather than 40s. I got excited for a moment as I thought I had a bitsa that might be able to furnish a replacement case but unfortunately the movement is different (though also unsigned and a 3-hander with a subdial).

More info from the seller. The watch has a 7 digit serial (starting with 834) and no reference. The intruiging thing is that most movement serials in my database around 169/170/171k are in Jaegers/Berthouds/Uweco's with serial 832/833/834k - so with 6 digit serials. Examples: https://curious-curio.jp/watch/46773 & https://goldammer.me/products/jaeger-chronograph

I still don't understand the 6-7 digit serials from Zenith

After digging through my reference books, I see there was an example from about 1937 that had the telephone timing lines. My bad. So what’s that number, looks like, 170423 ? Is the 834… number on the case back?

170423 see:

Serial is indeed inscribed in caseback

Agreed but I can't connect them with a numbered movement.

If you look at this chart an 8 mio number should be from around 1980 while the movement suggests 1942. I'm more and more convinced that these (early) 7 digit Zenith serials - without a letter in it - where actually 6+1. Or something like that 😁
