Oku Oku
at least partially
At first I thought that as well but now I think first redialled long ago and then - years later - refreshed with a sharpie

Wow I did not know of such « filmmaking » watches! Very interesting read, thanks @Mark020 for the linked article. A very good reminder that these watches we admire were actually initially produced to fill practical purposes rather than just shine on our wrists (or in a safe....)!

This was on ebay for a fleeting moment:

Some proper shenanigans on this one I think. The most glaring issue with the watch is that the serial dates the case to around 1944. As far as I know, the applied 'U' logo did not appear on UG dials until the 1960s. The hour and minute handset is typical of 1950s Pola(e)routers and beyond. Potentially there are three different UG manufacturing decades represented in this one franken piece.

Moving on to the dial specifically, 'Swiss Made' at six is usually cause for alarm with UG. The black cross hairs and minute markers look messy under magnification. The minute hand appears to significantly overshoot said minute track (unless it is a trick of the plexi) in most of the photographs. Surprisingly, the 'Universal Geneve' logo actually looks pretty good. Nevertheless, on balance, the dial is probably totally or partially redialled, in addition to everything else that is wrong.

Hard pass here.

Just missed it as well. Lot of work to do on it, but I think has a lot of potential - I am a big fan of the oversized.
Yeah these spillman cases are really nice.

Service, hands and a crown. Should be doable. Hardest part was finding a US adress 😁

Annoying thing was that I had to pay USD 100 (or so) tax.

And some filters perhaps. Interesting dial anyway
