I’m betting French case. I’m pretty sure there have been robust debates on valuation in the past.
Thanks @Larry S and @Florent . The dealer indeed told me it is a French case when I first saw the watch. He added that because it is a French case, it is high quality (ex: bars are in solid gold)...
Though, I am still waiting for pictures of the inner caseback.
Will keep you posted here for sure!

I don't think that one is a redial but I'm not going to go die on a hill for it. It may be- I just think the printing/fonts are too accurate for a redial.
I also think the accuracy of the print is just too good. If it's a redial, kudos to the redialer.

This one caught my eye. A nice little project for someone? Would be nice to see it saved from the smelter, at any rate.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/293768545165?ul_noapp=true

That looks like a nightmare - the case repair for a start and then searching for a loose dial (I had a look on Mikrolisk and there is/was a Universal Prima brand but I think I've only seen it on pocket watches). I take on the occasional basket case myself (currently sitting on two) but I wouldn't touch that one with yours 😗.

I hadn't noticed the hole in the case. Oh well, perhaps it's not such a good project after all!

I agree that it's a pretty little thing but the hollow lugs (which may be connected with the fact that it comes from one of their sub-brands) suggest it's not representative of their best work

Hi @Larry S @Dre @Florent , and fellow IF members,
Here is an update with caseback/movement picture of this one I posted recently:

The dealer says it is a French case, made by an important company, because "it contains much more gold than the usual UG Compax".
There is a reference number inside and outside of caseback, looks hand-engraved: 266 62, but no UG logo inside

@Larry S , you asked about the size to judge if price was fair: it is 35mm (not 37mm)

Thanks a lot guys for your help!

It doesnt look to me like a UG factory case. It looks like a generic or custom made gold case.

I think I saw what looks like an owl in the case back, can you zoom in on that. It can be the French Case UG.

Here is the best zoom I could do. To me it looks like an eagle (not owl)

A few more questions to have your feeling on this:
How can once know if that is a "French case UG" or re-casing?
Does it add or reduce the value of the watch?
What do you think of the fact that the numbers are "hand-graved"? For example, they are "stamped" in this other allegedly "French case UG" discussed on OF here.

Adding @LouS to this, I read he has several French cases UGs. Adding @10H10 too who contributed to similar discussions.

thanks!

Looks like an owl to me. I think it is a nice French case with pretty decent UG dial. All legit.

Ok so you read it- to me- this could be a French Cased UG similar to whats shown in the thread about them. But the inconsistency of the number imprint on the back of the case and the inner case back hand engraving/ the lack of other definers may be cause of concern. Again that's just to me. For others like @ELV web - it looks good and he knows more than I do about UG for sure. So consider what you're buying it for. Are you going to resell later? Will you have to explain these facts? If you are buying it bc you love the watch and will wear it forever- just buy it and enjoy.

I’m a bit confused by this thread plus the other one linked above when people are referring to what is clearly an eagle head as an owl. They don’t look at all the same. That stamp above is an eagle. The one at the end of the other linked thread above is an eagle.

Anyway, with these new considerations, I'd avoid buying it.

Thanks @vujen . To be sure I understand, can you elaborate on what makes you recommend to avoid that one? (Doubts about it being a re-casing ?)

It's lovely, isn't it. I feel that I need to embed a picture so that the hands can be preserved for posterity.
