Any chance to find a nice UG for 1200+-? $ if so what model should I be looking for? By the way I'm open for any suggestions on any brand.
really depemds on what you are looking for:
case material, chronograph or time only, size?
A 37mm UG chronograph in SS or gold will be very difficult if not impossible to find in good shape, a chrome cased or one with weatered dial not so. Time only watches are much more easy to find for that price.
So you really need to specify what you are looking for.

What value would you add to a serviced vs non serviced Tri Compax?
depends on the service and the watchmaker. Some watches are serviced, some are "serviced".

What looks to be a fake UG Medico Compax on ebay...
Case is probably from a generic chrono, e.g. "Chronograph Suisse" or something similar...
They did a decent job on the engravings...

Amazing that they went through all the trouble and didn't bother to research the Ref #s.

So if we throw in $100 for a dial and a couple of hundred/$200 for putting it all together, has the value of a redialed tri been established at roughly $3300?

I think it’s near impossible to come up with standard pricing for UG, I was just throwing around some figures for an OS Tri, based on what I have paid or sold parts for, but that’s just me, it’s possible others here wouldn’t agree on these numbers at all. Once you factor in the case size (small, med, large), case material (18k rose/yellow, 14k, Plated rose/yellow, SS), case style, and condition, you have so many variables it’s probably a fools errand to try and make generalized pricing.

I think it’s much better/accurate to look at specific examples and avoid broad discussions.

if documentation is provided of the service then I would factor in the amount paid. If a full service is needed I would factor in 750 to 1k, assuming no parts are needed. It seems people in Europe pay less, but that’s my ballpark in the states.

Yes, at least Compurs. TDMP is not in my focus.
Also some early Omegas don't have a Swiss script.

lots of TDMP have Swiss. I’ve never done a comprehensive study across models.

I think you are in non-chrono budget. Perhaps a nice monodatic or polerouter with patience and luck. Or there are many other nice time only UG, less well known and priced than these two models.

I was also thinking time-only models without a particular model name. I think he's in the ballpark for $1200.

Dunno, after all the years I’ve been looking at these watches, It feels like the upper point of a $1K range for what is basically a parts watch.

Pretty sure they never worked with UG. Jaeger and Zenith did, but Omega used homemade (non-chronograph) and Lemania (chronograph)

In the 60's UG switched to Valjoux, then in the 80's/90's UG used Lemania too. Maybe that is where the confusion comes from...
Yes it was the brand you had stated my apologies for the confusion.
Oh, and If you had 1200$ to spend, what would you rather look out for?
If you have $1200 look on Chrono24 there are a few nice vintage time only UGs for around that price but look closely and do some research. Some have original dials some redials some polished beyond belief some not. I always post here if I’m not sure about a watches original condition. Happy hunting am good luck.

Hello everyone, this watch isn’t on eBay but on a auction website that’s similar in ways. I was the winning bidder an got this watch for around 270 dollars. I’m wondering if anyone could help point out some flaws maybe? the watch looks like it’s in pretty good condition over all and hasn’t been polished to death. If anyone could help me out I’d appreciate it. Thanks

Looks already quite polished to me TBH... Dial not in a good shape and I find it weird to have the case back with a logo from a different era than the dial one. It could be transitional though, 1.5M serial dates the watch around the logo change

Hey thanks, the price says it all really being so cheap. I was thinking the same about the dial but thinking maybe it’s the plexiglass that is scratched that makes it look like that guess I’ll have to wait till it’s in my hands.

A pretty poor re-dial - on the plus side it shouldn't be that hard to find a loose dial for a cal 262.

ah, so you were the first buyer 😉

The seller told me they were relisting and I asked if I could just make an offer, but they went ahead and listed it in the middle of the night (my time) and then someone else snapped it up.

maybe i should consider myself lucky.

This watch has popped up again here priced at a premium;

No mention of any recent case repair in the listing though....
