Are the hand lengths ok? The red month hand goes outside the circle whereas the date one is inside. The main hour hand also doesn't meet the numerals. Is that
Late 50s hands and dial. If serial is 40s then it is a case of someone being a little inventive. It does not look bad at all but not a collectors piece at it has lost its originality. It is a bit like a road sweeper claiming he has a vintage 1940s broom that has has the brush replaced and the handle replace throughout its life. IS it still a vintage broom ?

As a matter of interest, did anybody have a view on this one?
I had a cheeky snipe but I obviously didn't want it enough (I did some work in Caracas a few years ago). I received some high resolution pictures from the seller and the detail was of sufficient quality for me to believe it is original.
I鈥檓 curious to what makes you think it might be original? I had a look and hesitated but the fact that it didn鈥檛 have Universal Geneve written on the dial didn鈥檛 convince me.
