not just a broken tip, more like a completely wrong seconds hand? Or is that tail possibly correct?

Hi to all,

Not into UG, so will appreciate help to identify this watch and condition.
https://www.chrono24.com/universalgenve/fs-ref-864-106-cal-64-ug-steel-serviced--id8118928.htm
The case looks polished, and what about the dial (it's not in eBay, I know). Thanks in advance.

Best,

João

AVOID. Many problems, bad price. This is a UG FS, there is a whole thread on them here if you search. You should be able to get a much better example for cheaper....

You might be correct on the seconds hand not being original. Yet to find an identical example for comparison, but this one is close:

yes, but side note that's a good vote for the dial being original ?

Yes, I also am more confident about the dial after stumbling upon the above example.

I was looking at this, however the seller did mention in small print that its for parts. I msg him directly and he said its running but also sold for parts.

Weird.

Some sellers say a watch is for parts to limit their liability in case the watch doesn't function up to the buyers expectations.

Advertised as "genuine" and "untouched" when not so long ago it had a polerouter electric case.

Hey Guys,

Any thoughts on this watch? I’m pretty new to this UG watch game.
Owner said it’s a redial. Would it be easy to get an original dial?

https://m.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Geneve-Early-Compur/332732827672

my failed "worldwide" auction on ebay that had all the settings wrong ended up at $1615, which was fine.
now the buyer is backing out of the sale, claiming the watch is "inauthentic". I wrote asking for clarification and they said it wasn't inauthentic, but actually the case was "supposed" to be SS not chrome. I wrote back asking for clarification and they said actually it was clearly stated as a chrome case, they just didn't read the description. In the meantime Ebay is breathing down my neck, saying I have to provide return shipping labels, cover shippings costs both ways, and give a refund by today (just some arbitrary date set by when the return was initiated), when the watch hasn't even shipped back to me yet. And that my seller rating could be affected. The seller has been polite and offered a restocking fee, but still, this reminds me that selling on ebay is an effing b*&^h. Just something to consider for anyone thinking about ebay sales.....

Any opinion on this one?
From 1940s according to its S/N, condition seems ok except non-signed dial.

wow that is such a cool case! Assume it's a redial, I would avoid unless it stays really cheap and you are in love with it...

I am sure he knows what he is doing by starting this with auction and not with a “Buy it now” or At least “make an offer” option! Iam sure he will end HIGH $$$$ but what if not so high as his fair value is?
I wouldn’t gamble on this..

I could bid but I have to take into consideration the final price after the customs and clearing fee which is too high here!
