Cant claim credit for that one.... "American Pickers" on History Channel. I like the term too.
Clearly I'm spending way too much time scouring watch forums, and not enough watching TV... 🙁

Did any of you lucky souls manage to scoop up the UG Compax on the Dink? The big one, ref 22704, not totally perfect but beautiful all the same....

I just cant get excited by these watches. I've had opportunities to acquire several and I always pass. Kinda generic with V72. I think the chrono sweep may or may not be incorrect. I have an early 60's dress version with this sweep that I'm having changed.

I watch it occasionally ... Its an interesting show but also a sad view on fine line between "collecting" and "hoarding" ...pretty alarming.

Funny, I just stumbled across that watch on a Danish site. He must have sold it through there...

Love those guys! What a great show, so much history. i love all of the deeper explanations or products, manufacturers etc. I've only seen a few episodes where they stumble upon watches though

Seller is Sonny Dewan.

Sonny used to do all my watch repair work until he became a full-time dealer.

He does some deals with Menta on occasion, but I don't know if this is one of them.
gatorcpa
I stand corrected then. But I remember seeing some menta pieces ending up on his auction, hence the immediate association.

Good afternoon,

Newbie from Sweden here, with a newly found passion for the UG Polerouter and Polarouter.
I would like to ask what much more experienced users than me think of this piece?
https://m.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Ge...&_sacat=14324&_nkw=polerouter&_from=R40&rt=nc

If there is anything standing out, I would really appreciate a heads up, to reduce the “newbie tax” for my part.

Best regards//

Hi Peter, I am not an expert, but for sure here there are many and you will receive some insightful hints. In my opinion, the case is overpolished, the dial in poor conditions if not retouched and the crown not original. Afterall, the price seems way to high for a watch in this condition. Solid rose gold polerouter in much better conditions can also be found for a little more.

I do thank you very much for your input and I choose to listen to the wise.
Even you might not be an expert, your eyes are much more experienced than mine and I do agree completely regarding the case and crown.
As you say, the price is a bit on the steep side and there are better once out there.

A solid rose gold Polerouter does sound like a much better option.
