Polerouter Prototype or random pieces?

    Good evening,

I would love some opinion on this one? It is marketed as a Prototype but I'm really not sure. Red has been seen on ONE other Polerouter but I have reservations on that watch also. I believe the dial and all of the pieces are original but I doubt that this watch left the factory as is.

    Any opinions?

Here's the picture of the other red Polerouter that has surfaced this year.

These watches are discussed in this thread https://omegaforums.net/threads/cobbled-together-polerouter.67476/

As you can see, there is a third similar watch.

I certainly have doubts about the latest two to surface. In the example you've posted, the chapter ring looks to have been cut in a very amateur fashion in order to fit the date window.

The second watch you have posted looks the most believable and it appears to be owned by someone who works in the industry and is very knowledgeable. Is it possible that the latest two watches were created from various spare parts with the aim of copying this watch, which could be genuine? Or perhaps all three watches are the recent work of the same person?

Sorry, it does not do it for me . I am always skeptic of anything labelled prototype as it seems to be frequently used to explain undocumented variations. I support he cobbled verdict ::popcorn::

I know UG sometimes have a reputation for delving into the parts bin themselves but why would they put a signed crystal onto a watch with a date and not use one with a cyclops? Incidentally I recently saw a Spanish Ebay seller with signed crystals sans date.

3 prototypes is 2 too many.
