Hehe, I have 30mm watches. But go ahead with this man. Good luck!
Thanks @aap I was able to get it. Hope that it will arrive next week. I'm very glad that you brought this one back in my mind (was already posted here the first time some weeks ago). Not in my hands, but I'm pretty sure it is a beautiful watch and quite important find.
I will post some better pics and research results when the watch has arrived.
Might have a golden bezel and an amazing dial under the rotten crystal.
Hello,
Can anyone here explain this please:
https://www.ebay.it/itm/Universal-Geneve-Military-Rare-Aero-Compax-Chronograph-to-Fix-or-for-Parts/401524194854?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649
It´s a Dato-Compax with cal. 283, case ref. number (22326) is on Sala among Dato-Compaxes and is correct to the case and movement... BUT... there is "Tri-Compax" written on the dial?! If that is an old re-dial (a good one, at least to my eyes), why would someone change the name of the watch?

A Dato-Compax with a Tri-Compax dial and the seller call it Aero-Compax... It must be the very rare Multi-Compax...
Why would someone make such a redial?
Well, whatever the seller calls it, this watch is strange.
The point is that the dial is a correct Dato-Compax dial (ok, maybe the numerals are a bit newer font than corresponds to the serial number, but I think that is not 100% certain). The case is a correct Dato-Compax case with matching ref. number. And it has the right movement to go with it.
I.e. the watch IS a Dato-Compax (it has date in the upper subdial, the remainng three being chrono&seconds), it has no day and month discs it has no moon phase.
The only "problem" is that instead of "Dato-Compax" there is "Tri-Compax" printed on the dial (in correct position and with correct font - at least to my amateur eye).
Why?
Why would someone make such a redial?
For those who have trouble with the link and for future reference I include the photos from the eBay listing.
