Nice watch though

 

Spotted this beauty on the website of the famous watch dealer in Tokyo, Jackroad so I have high hopes, but I'd love to get you guys' thoughts on this Uni Compax advertised as being a 40s piece:

 

It looks like a genuine gold reference to me. I would ask for the reference number to Ensure it is a plated reference. Also, the lack of serial number on the surface of the case back could mean the case is earlier reference which probably means the dial is replaced with a later version. Anyhow it looks very nice.

 

Unfortunately the website doesn't seem to have a reference number or serial number for this one! I will probably try to ask for more information and to see the movement if possible, but thanks for your input!

 

It does seem like an unusual dial/case combo, I would def verify the reference # to be safe...

 

Ok condition, but some may like the tropical patina on this one. Also, not absurdly priced like some other polerouters.

Yes I agree but honestly, the dial is dead and imho, not easy to find a replacement.

 

The back of the case looks to be disintegrating, the Polerouter engraving on the case back has almost been polished off, I'm not sure about the crystal (the loupe looks rectangular rather than trapezoidal) and the crown is a replacement (mentioned in the ad).

I would personally avoid, even at that price.

And the hands are replacements (no lume)... However, that case is sharp!

As a fan of the Uni ... she’s real ... but as said need to see ref and s/n ... inside case and movement shot.
