The seller tries to hide the state of the dial with overexposed photos. Something I don't like...
Yes, i see. What do you think about the watch? The dial looks original to me, what do you think about the case and so on?

It's plated so the price is about right. It's all correct. Moon face is rare. Given the market, the watch would not be a terrible entry level Tri Compax. Plan on spending money on a service. I'd push on the price as hard as I could based on dial condition and the fact that it's a low grade case and needs servicing. Hands appear plated too.

As Larry said, case is plated. Personally, I would go for steel or gold. Also the the dial is quite tired. But that is a matter of taste. Some like it, some not.

They are never solid gold, aren't they?!

I did.
This will be my first UG.
Thank you

Great buy 😎

You'd be hard pressed to find a clapped-out Seiko 5 for that price normally...

Great recommendation, @Moahunter 👍

Signed - http://www.ebay.com/itm/universal-g...ca5b8c6&pid=100005&rk=3&rkt=6&sd=182678812939

The second seller has one negative feedback...and that was from a Universal Geneve diver, most probably the dual crown version, that is widely faked. Everything else sold seems fine though.

And if anyone is interested in a simple two hander in a box: http://www.ebay.com/itm/UNIVERSAL-G...306850?hash=item2f06aa9a62:g:Ii4AAOSw3gJZM5Xq

And that one has a signed crown but it (the crown) looks fairly mangled. These are not rare watches - whilst the original one posted above was a bit of a bargain, I would still advise anybody that wants one to set a budget of €100-120 and just wait until you get one with the crown, a fair dial and otherwise in OKish condition. From my observation these watches were never babied so you should always factor in the cost of a service etc. In the space of watching these over 4 or so years I've only ever seen one or two in what one might call collector's condition.

US Army Ord UG: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/WWII-Era...BIDX:IT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649#viTabs_0

Appears to be correct, though the case appears to have some rust and movement may need some work, despite seller saying it is working.
I think there was someone who was on the lookout for something similar here...?
