I wasn't following it religiously but it had only reached around £1,500 the last time I noticed. I fully expected the final price to be considerably higher but an auction always leaves you with the hope of a bargain.

UWECO 1936 ?????? I was looking to get a UG related to my birthdate and found this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-S...686564?hash=item41bf7fa024:g:m6UAAOSwB-1Yp1UiPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network But even the vendor seems dubious about the dial etc. "To me the watch looks like a 50's style screw back case but according to all of the research it dates to the 1936 time frame." Opinions please.
at first sight, this one looks nice: http://www.ebay.com/itm/332189672220Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network But then... 2 and 10 in the subdials outer scale not blue. is this correct?
The dial looks fine to me, how are those numbers affixed? is there a chance they have dropped down, if glued? printing on the dial looks legit to me though

Needs the original crown tube as well ... I suppose you could accept it as it is and make it look nicer. Here is a 6.5mm screw in crown and crown tube mod that would bring it closer to what it used to look like and it won't cost an arm and a leg ... Should you ever find the original parts, it can be reversed.
Isn't this awesome? Getting pricey. But when will you see something like this again? http://www.ebay.com/itm/222489317952?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:ITPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
May be someone is interested: It is not in the bay, not cheap, but looks quite nice in my eyes. Or did I miss something? http://www.chronocentric.com/forums/chronotrader/index.cgi?page=1;md=read;id=69320
Wasn't that watch (same serial) for sale 20 days ago for less 20% than it is now? http://chronocentric.com/forums/chronotrader/index.cgi?md=read;id=68045
I happen to know that watch, having bought and returned it many years ago (not from this seller, though). The 11 o'clock lug is re-attached to the case, but at an incorrect angle, so the distance between the upper lugs is greater that that between the lower lugs - note the splay in the upper lugs. It was obvious enough to me when I had the piece in hand that I could not live with it and sent it back.

Not eBay but did anybody pick this up on Catawiki this evening? I was distracted at just the wrong time. Although chrome plated, time only and 34mm, the art deco style numerals are great, condition was immaculate and it appeared to have its original hang tag (at least the printed tag matched the case reference).
