Universal Geneve Uni-Compax 12297: Redial or Original Dial?

Hello friends - looking to build up my knowledge and understanding of redials.

To my untrained - I cant make out if this is or isnt. I have tried to compare and contrast. The hands look good - indicies look good - minute markers look consistent - hands look good I think? Text looks good too.

Additionally I believe the mushroom pushers and crown are correct - case doesnt look overly polished to me.

Let me know what you guys think !

Hi - thank you for your analysis! If you have a second, could you enlighten me on how you got there? I’m still struggling to see it.

The case’s condition led me to believe that the “too clean” dial made sense.

The lume on the hands and lack of lume on the rest of the dial, to me is something I totally missed and makes sense to assume a redial of some sort.

I guess the discrepancy in the subdial that is very clear to you guys is on the right hand side ?

Pardon my ignorance but is it not possible that there is just a few variations? Or is there something else in the subdials I am overlooking?

When you have looked at thousands and thousands of dials, for years, it is as obvious as a punch in the face. In this example, the subdials are the most obvious, because the layouts and fonts are wrong, as is the quality of printing. There is no way to summarize years of experience into one sentence, the only way to get better at evaluating dials is from experience, and asking here in the meantime. For example, find another of these exact same reference with an original dial, and then try to find every single variation between the two dials that you can spot.
