Thanks chaps.

I've been keeping an eye on eBay (europe wide), but things are a bit thin on the ground, and as @arturo7 very rightly says the prices are ahead of the quality.

I just bought this Arsa automatic which has the FS hallmark. After having read the thread, I realise that this watch does not meet the sub second, markers and manual wind criteria, so I am wondering if it is real ? I bought the watch locally in a lot and the seller was not aware of the hallmarks. I would be grateful if the knowledgeable people and especially @perseo66 could shed some light on this watch.
sorry for the delay.
your watch is a model used only to sell watches the model is very similar to other watches. they have the same numbers. but they are not FS. they are very well done. they are not fake. the number is the reference of the watch. they are very elegant. but they have nothing in common with the railways.
arsa has sold pocket watches for the FS with progressive serial number, they are highly sought after by collectors. lorenz has never sold watches to the FS. has participated like many other factories in the tenders to win a commission. but nothing

If I'd maybe spent a few hours staring at these, and potentially decided that acquiring one was a really really good idea, could any of you fine folks point me in the correct direction?

I'm guessing Italy is a good placed to hunt?
yessss let's hunt in Italy

So if I understand correctly it is not a issued FS watch, but a prototype submitted to FS commission ?

Recently picked up this MK3 which is in immaculate condition. The strange thing is the case back, which does not have the usual FS engraving. However, considering the overall condition of the watch, I suspect it to be original. Unfortunately I don’t have a wrench to open it but would be interested to get the “experts” view on the case back.

it is clearly seen that the bottom was machined with a lathe

that dial is perfect in every way. A shame the back engraving was polished off

Fell in love with these back in 2020 when I first saw this thread and I am happy to say I have finally added a Mk1 to my collection. Now, off to possibly complete the set with the Mk2 and 3.

Fantastic addition (and condition)! And I’ve got mine on today as well, less than 100 digits away from yours on the case back. 😉👍

Thank you! Yours is gorgeous as well and it’s fun they are so close to each other. It looks so good on your grey strap as well. Where is the strap from in this post?
Just scored this MK1 from the mid-1960s (23xxx serial). Lug facets are wonderfully sha

I’ve changed it up a couple of times but I think the one you’re referring to is from Delugs. Picture on my instagram feed below. Very happy with the strap.

Thank you! Yes, that is the one I am talking about. This is the first I have looked through Delugs and now I’m struggling to find something I want to buy as there are so many straps that look good. Haha. Thank you 😀

Here's my mk2. Case lapped/sun cut brushed at some point, but I don't mind this "restomod". Dial in excellent condition and had it serviced last year, keeps good time.

Well, after going through this entire thread, I think I need one of these now! Am I crazy or would a MK1 look great on a milanese bracelet??
