··Pratts! Will I B******S!!!Here in the USA, Thanksgiving is just around the corner and already I can hear the faint jingle of sleigh bells approaching fast upon its heels. Although the past year or so has been quite challenging, I have many things to be thankful for - something I strive to reflect on each and every day.
Among those things - my forum friends and community at large here on OF, many of whom sent notes or called during my extended absences over the past year. A heartfelt thanks to you all - it was and is much appreciated. And to the owner and moderators who make OF such a great community of (mostly) like-minded enthusiasts - you also have my gratitude. https://omegaforums.net/members/?type=staff
Well then, enough of that sentimental crap...🙄
After a hiatus in 2017, I am very pleased to announce the return and Official Kickoff of the the (un) Official Omega Forums Holiday Photo Contest. So... without further delay... let’s get started! 👍
THE RULES - read them carefully.
1. This contest is open to any OF member in good standing (with me, not the moderators 😜) who joined on or before May 1, 2018, and who has a minimum of 200 posts.
2. Photos must have been taken by the member posting. The honor system applies - as I know that most of you can be trusted. 😗
3. No photos from previous OF posts are allowed. New to the forum photos only please, again, honor system.
4. Extra credit will be given to photos with a holiday theme. In other words, while it isn't required, a holiday-themed photo will trump one of equal quality without, so keep that in mind. I don’t care which holiday you pick (yes, even Festivus), when it occurs in the calendar year, or which season, hemisphere, continent, region, country, or whatever, so suit yourself. OF spans the globe, and so does this contest.
5. Photos must include at least one watch, clock, or other timepiece, and the TIMEPIECE MUST BE PROMINENTLY FEATURED. An accompanying narrative explaining your photo or providing personal context is welcome, however only the photos themselves may be considered by the judging panel.
6. Limit of two (2) photo entries per member, so make sure they're your two very best! If you post more than two, only the first two in this thread will be considered. That said, you are welcome to edit your initial entries with a better photo, as many times as you like, right up until the contest deadline.
7. All entries must be posted to this thread by midnight Central Standard Time (UTC -6) on Sunday, December 9th, 2018. Judging (by me and any other members of the Darlinboy household who choose to do so) will commence sometime thereafter and should be completed in a week or two depending on the number of entries and competing priorities.
8. As we have learned from previous experience, during the contest it is wise to check the bushes for lurkers. 😒
9. The judge is always right.
10. In the unlikely event the judge is wrong, see rule #9.
Technique and photography skills won't hurt, but in the end, winners will be selected purely & solely on our personal preferences and the decision of the judges is final. If you can’t live with the rules and judging criteria, well then 🤬
