From what I remember the expected value on here was a lot higher...

Not necessarily. Unless they waived it there would have been anywhere from 15-20% sellers commission. He may have taken home less than £20k. I doubt it was fully waived.
I was trying to point out that it cost the buyer 31k pounds, not 25. And i hope the guy didn’t give them 15-20% sellers commission for that watch, he could have gotten a much better deal from a better-known auction house!
I was just pointing out that the seller only got 25k. That's what you're concerned with when you ask for the value of your watch, right?
