“Ultraman” on eBay being sold by a clown who believes that he is better than the Omega Archival Team

With his crazy theory that every single Speedy with the serial falling between the range listed in moonwatchonly must be an Ultraman. There must be up to 3000 Ultraman’s. Throw in a NOS or relumed set of hour and minute hands and a flat foot crown that looks like it’s for a seamaster, hook, line, sinker. He’s all prepared to catch all the novices on eBay. Also, check out his wild claims that the Omega Archives isn’t definitive, because he is possibly a clairvoyant.

Yes very strange that the hands are mint but the dial lume is in a horrible state.

I think its worth a try - but he could change the listing to "possible ultraman" and still sucker people in.

Or, maybe he is convinced himself.

I know we need to all look out for each other, but anyone willing to pay mega dollars for this and that doesn't immediately see either red flags or is skeptical.... might be deserving of it...

I think we all benefit when sellers do not misrepresent the items they are selling. Also, we were all there once.

Is that serious amounts of rust on the inside of the caseback? Like something rusted like crazy in there, you can see a bit of rust on the chrono hour subdial as well.

Like something rusted like crazy in there,

You can even see it on the edges of the crystal/tension ring as well. Looks like he salvaged everything possible from a donor, and created a O'Henry-worthy story for the rest. Beware to all......

unfortunately somebody is going to pay a big money for something different from what he intends to buy...

That caseback is wrong either imho.

And no comments about sellers attitude 👎
