I am more surprised at the people in this thread who make this watch look like a late 60s skin diver on their absolutely massive wrists.

I'm glad you have a watch you can wear without it looking like a 32mm watch 馃榿

I forgot something: the rotating bezel is top-notch. Extremely smooth.
Miles better than on the Seamaster Diver 300 (which is sometimes hard to grab).
And better than on my Seamaster 300 MC (the vintage style one).
I鈥檓 yet to try the bezel at AD. Definitely leaning more toward the Ultra vs 136 SD although have sd43 & jc before, time for something new.

I was waiting for the bracelet but the rubber strap version came in first so I got that one. The bracelet is on order through my OB. The rubber strap feels fine and is light and comfortable.

How is the bracelet priced? I guess it much more than the difference between the model with rubber strap and bracelet.

OB told me bracelet is about $650 or so. Looks like rubber strap is about $400 or so. Either way I would have got both straps so they come out about the same price total.

Thought it would be around +1,000 $.....then it sounds fine.
Congrats with your latest acquisition ....what about a few nice pics?馃榾

Did you order from an AD or a boutique? I ordered mine, also a stainless steel on bracelet, from an AD back in August. I am still waiting on its arrival. I have asked before, but has anyone seen these models in an AD? Or is it still boutique only, or online when available? I am hopeful they will hit AD鈥檚 sometime soon, but the time frame keeps getting pushed back.

I ordered from a AD (texas), the only place I have seen it was in a Boutique here while visiting in Spain,

The Omega Ultra Deep was announced in March yet you cannot go into a store and buy one. They have month after month moved the goal post further and further away. Will they ever actually be for sale?

I was looking at TAG tourbillons since the beginning of the year. Originally they told me August. Now it is almost December and they just added yet another model and absolutely none are available for sale. What's with that?

Unless you are a "valued" customer forget buying a PP, AP or even a Rolex. They all have page after page of beautiful watches "for sale" but you will not be going anywhere to try one on. You may or may not be able to get onto a Bona Fide list of some sort. Do they hate us?

There are a great many grey market watches out there that probably contributes to the shortage for those of use who actually want the watch. Can they be stopped?

What can we do???

You can choose not to buy it.

It is all supply and demand. You know what is going on, and you bet the watch manufacturers know what is going on.

It is all manufactured scarcity. You see it in handbags, shoes, limited edition clothes, collectible toys etc.

There is not much you can do besides not playing the game.

Picked up the UD with blue-to-black dial, on the rubber strap, at the OB in NJ this week. Big thanks to the SA there Andrew!

Here are some images.

Barrister - I'm sorry to ask the same question of you - but what's your wrist size? What's a normal sized watch you wear that feels "bigger"? Like for me, I have a 6.8-ish but flat wrist and I'm not a small guy, so I feel ok wearing a Panerai LUminor
44, but a Seamaster 300m or Speedy is my sweet spot.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that. Wrist size is 7.25". The 45mm case diameter is no problem. But the UD is thick at 18.1mm (no doubt), and you can feel the extra weight, as compared to the Seamaster 300m. But overall, feels comfortable, and I really enjoy the colors, and the design and layout of the dial.

On the rubber : Do you think the 52mm lug to lug feels shorter? It looks pretty sharp and the rubber looks like it is pulling down quite a bit.

Yes, I do. The rubber strap does drop fairly straight down from the lugs.

I can鈥檛 believe I鈥檓 suddenly considering this watch!

I should mention the rubber strap is thick, certainly in comparison to the Seamaster 300M on rubber. The 300M is also more flexible and the rubber has a softer or supple feel to it. The UD strap is less flexible, both due to the thickness and also, I think, a design choice by Omega attempting to mimick a dive suit material look and feel.
