·Looks like both black/blue gradient dial and brown/gray dial on rubber straps are available on omega online.
nice watch, i'd be like having a wall clock on my wrist though. Keep us briefed on how it does once you get to 6000m 😉
Went to an Omega store in downtown Manhattan this weekend. Was offered to look at an Ultra Deep if I gave them a 50% deposit (refundable) - apparently they would have had to get one from another store?. Thanked them and left. I'll never figure out what Omega (or their representatives) are thinking.
I've got mine through an Omega boutique in Switzerland.
My first impressions after the first day:
- It's huge, it's massive, it's a beast
- It's heavy (240g with 3,5 links removed)
- It's thick
- BUT: it wears phenomenally comfortable despite being so heavy (I have 18,5 cm / 7,08 inch wrist). I don't have the feeling that I'm weight-lifting. Omega has done an outstanding job by making this watch so wearable. This is probably the most impressive feature of this watch.
- I wear the bracelet a bit tighter than usual (so the heavy watch does not move around too much on the wrist)
- The new clasp is just wow (it's not wider or higher than the bracelet itself. great job here)
- The O-Megasteel and the ceramic bezel are not too shiny, not too bling-bling
- The dial is relatively small compared to other watches in my collection
- Build quality is outstanding
Long story short: An awesome watch.
I don’t know where you went to be offered such a “deal”, but that doesn’t sound right and is the complete opposite of any experience I have ever had with an OB!!
Brookfield Place boutique downtown Manhattan - maybe I was looking a bit disheveled last weekend, as it was drizzling in NYC. Still, the place was empty otherwise, they could have humored me. My overall experience with Omega boutiques has been hit-and-miss, at best. I do however have one boutique I really like (got my Ed White there), which is enough.
What boutique do you really like?
