This is why as a collector of many watches, no dates like the Speedmaster Pro and Daytona are awesome, and non-Calendar piepans.
I used to be ALL ABOUT date features. And I still love it on my Rolex 1501, which gets a lot of wrist time. But other than that, not so much.
I wish I didn't have any date models, but sometimes, I can't stop myself from buying something only to find out like weeks later that it has a date!
Today I learned how to set my Speedmaster triple date. Not as terrible as I thought it would be, but didn’t get it right on my first try ha ha.
True story: I owned my triple date for over ten years before I discovered that it had a button to adjust the day of the week! That, my friends, was a game changer! Not to mention, a damning indication that I need to get out more!
Setting the correct day, date, month, moon phase and whatever other astronomical indicators are on the watch is part of the ownership experience. I enjoy interacting with all my watches. It's not onerous to me.
