Hi all,
Just got this.
Compax with 37 mm and very good dial condition.
I believe dial is original.
Serial number an model reference is engraved on inside case back.
The ref. I have been told is 22522, I believe that is the Film Compax ref.
On Sala book I found that ref with other Dial, a black one.
Your comments much appreciated particularly if his dial and case watch.
More pics to follow.
Merry Christmas to All of you

Congrats, great condition!
I am a little bit afraid of dibsing as it can happen more quickly than expected as we know 😉
but whatsoever: Dibs!
Merry Christmas!

Need to see the innards I’m afraid ... however nothing sets off alarm bells.

Hi All
Attached inside case back marks and movement pics.
I think the case and dial are correct
The movement will need service and also a rubi replaced.
Anyone else have seen this reference without being the Film Compax?
Have a nice Christmas day.
Thanks

Case references have zero to do with dials. Everything looks good ... the dial and the case back are appropriate for the SN . Hands are fine. Nice watch!

I like the "Mileage" scale. 👍
Don't typically see that.

Hi
Thanks for the comments.
I agree with you about the scale.
Not common
Probably made for the American market

Possibly, although I recall that the UK (and many other countries) generally transitioned from imperial to metric units in the late 1960s, so presumably watches made before then could have gone to those markets as well.

But then they changed their minds? The export marking on the balance bridge looks odd. Close up please?

I'll challenge that as an overstatement. I'd be pretty suspicious of any Film Compax that WASN'T a ref 22522, for example. And certain case references tend to be Medicos, and others not, and certain Compurs, and certain Uni-Compaxes.

In this case, I will agree that not all 22522s are Film-Compaxes. However, all the 22522s from this serial number range (n=5 including this one), including a 1714506 (just 6 numbers away) ARE Film Compaxes, except for this one and one obvious redial. The examples that are not are in different serial number ranges, at least according to the ones I have written down. FWIW.

Sorry
Can not take pictures to the movement.
Probably on weekend or when the watch goes to the SPA.
Should I be worried about this watch?
Do you consider it is a Franken?
Thanks

I wouldn't worry if I were in your shoes. My statement comes from pretty limited data, and that is undoubtedly an original UG dial. At the very very worst, it is a factory replacement dial, and at the best, it is entirely original. I doubt anyone will ever be able to say for sure one way or another, but everyone will agree it is a very attractive watch.

As soon as I have better movement pics I will post them here.

Damn ... well @LouS has proven once again that there are no absolute rules of thumb when it comes to UG. That said this is a great watch!
