Good luck!

IMHO you need to log this through paypal now, I assume you have an address for the seller and if it was me I would genuinely get on a plane! This is an utter disgrace and you have been so unbelievably miserably treated! Just such a shocker

I don't understand the seller stance. Just take the return at the start and enhance your rep as a solid, trustworthy seller.

He didn't and how many watches will he sell on here as a result? Even if you remove the moral factor, from a business point if view it seems extremely short sighted.

None I hope, it's time he followed Alex out the door.

Time to file a dispute and protect yourself before the PayPal limit expires.

Even if there had been some recent positive momentum (and it certainly appears there is none), that is the only prudent course.

I'm in agreement with everyone else's comments. Seems like you've put in a valiant effort to work with the guy to sort this out and he doesn't seem like he's willing to budge at this point. Time to log a case with PayPal to get the process started.

Really sorry to see this isn't turning out any better. Keep your head up and good luck.

I have opened a dispute claim this morning. However the deal also involved the trade of one of my seamaster's which he states that he has already sold so a resolution is not going to be easy🙁

If you dont come to a resolution and keep the watch, is the case back the same size as the later models? I have seen a 2998 with a Omega sapphire case back

I have sent a query to T Preik to see if they do one. As yet I have had no response.

Cheers

You might be quicker to contact him through his ebay sales, he has a 321 case back on auction at the moment

Well, this appears to be the best that I can expect. It is 100% my problem because I have purchased from him but is it really 50% my fault?

The only thing to do il fix the problem 50% and 50%

Matteo - The Master of Speed

I will keep pursuing other avenues. As yet I don't have a fix.

The Master of Speed is a member of the forum, has to be reading this and hasn't weighed in one way or another. In some respects that's probably for the best, but just adds another dimension of awkwardness IMO.

He sent me a note today requesting I remove his name and he will respond tonight. Should be interesting. I tried to sort this without outing him but he left me no choice. It is not nice and I would just like to have it resolved.

We will see, the eternal optimist😉

Even if he does make things right, which seems unlikely at this point, I hope the name is not removed. If it takes outing him to make him do the right thing, people still need to know this for future reference.

First of all sorry for my english

I know Barking Mad (Peter) 1 year ago he bought from me a 105012-65 and all went well

after that we met in Lugano Swiss 16th September 2014 for a change that he proposed me

this 2998-4 http://omegaforums.net/threads/speedmaster-2998-4.16149/

for this 2998-5 http://themasterofspeed.tumblr.com/post/96354356468/2998-5

the deal went well

We sat in a cafe in Lugano and we talked about our collection and what we would like to buy in future

Peter tell me that would like to buy a 2998-61 and -62 for complete him 2998's collection

Peter knew that I had in collection a 2998-61

2998-61 http://themasterofspeed.tumblr.com/post/88943095613/2998-61gray

When I got home I thought I could give him my -61

but i said that i wanted to keep my faded dial

and i exchange the dial of the 2998-4 that he just gave me in Lugano Swiss with the 2998-61 faded dial

( I never submit a watch without complete real photos but I thought that after two deal there there could be confidence and friendship - and i take only a photos of the front of the watch)

Peter accepts! and give me a Seamaster 300 for exchange + money

When receive the watch all was okey - after some week - he complains that some part of the calibre are different (but no problem on caseback! open-closed 😕)

I realized that his 2998-4 movement was assembled 🤦

his watch was talk here http://www.speedmaster101.com/all-of-a-sudden-two-2998s-for-sale-at-once/

My mistake - I would have to control it better - happens - after this I told him that I fix the problem - my watchmaker for make fast change only the two serial number (two movements would have to be the same for the same period) 🤦

He send back to me the speedy and i do the changes he wanted

Returned to him - he says that now the caseback not close 😲

I'm sure the caseback is always perfect - I called my watchmaker and assured me that it was perfect - I also noted that is the same caseback that Peter wrist for some weeks and that stay close

I assumed that it has tried to open the caseback badly to see if the movement was ok - Peter told me that it was not able to open it alone

if I have to think that he is in good faith - but he thinks I'm playing dirty - but I beginning to think that it is not the truth

Matteo,
You forget to mention that you knew about the issues with the 2998-4 before we met and you even sent me the email below. I did not hide anything and did not know about the issues before I offered for sale.

\I did not try and open the case back. I did not have to, it fell off when I was unpacking. I never had the watch on my wrist for some weeks as it was sent back to you for rectification.
