Sorry to be so vague but I have an issue with a watch that I have recently purchased. The first pic is the sellers and the second is one that I took with my iPad when confirming the serial after receipt. It wasn't until I was checking the photo today that I noticed the differences. I have notified the seller and requested a solution but as yet no response (only emailed about six hours ago). I have informed him that if I get no response I will start procedings with Paypal to recover my funds and warn the forum.

I am extremely disappointed especially as I have dealt with this person before and he is a forum member.

Doesn't even look anything like the 1st photo. If they don't answer I'd check with the mods about the forum member and what can be done.

Will do. Do not want to out prematurely but certainly is hard to swallow. Hard to imagine "a simple mistake".

Still curious about the seller even if he does return your money.

Symmetrical driving wheel/arm assembly [if that's what you call it; well, it's to the right of the column wheel] in top photo

    but asymmetrical in bottom photo

Lighting conditions can make the watch seem different. But you'll certainly want to look at constituent parts in both photos to see what's there clearly, no matter the lighting differences

I actually like the watch. I am hoping it can be put right. I will give him the benefit of the doubt for now. Real shame.

Doesn't look like an innocent mistake though. Hope it turns out well for you.

    OK enlighten me......
What is the difference? I only find a screw difference (rounded vs flat at the bottom). My eyes might not be trained enough for this.
First pic certainly looks better, but I suspect it comes from lighting and possibly photoshop / photo filter.
    How about serial number? Matched?

on second note: certainly parts condition in first pic is better and neater

Look closely at both photos - between 5 and 6 o'clock position.

I'm hoping there's a bizarre, inadvertent snafu that's put right

Look a thumb's distance to the right of the column wheel in each photo

The screws in the first "clean" picture are at different tightened positions if you look at the heads. Also the advance/retard adjustment position is different. If the original picture was the first one, then I would suggest it had changed because of a good service. Same calibre of movement, but not the same watch in my humble opinion.

It is the same watch but you are spot on with the movement. Serial number is the same for both.

If it did get a service between the first and second photos, some parts were changed...coupling yoke is certainly different.
