After the strap, on the same principles, you can do whatever you want
A prototype with many issue but I will Continue to work on it

 

Long time without making strap but I found some spare time to work on leather dying wich is a fun part I didn’t mentioned before.
Here are some example with the starting leather ( light cream ) and the results (with distressed effect )

I hope some of you did try to make their own watch strap

 

Been gathering materials. I found I have some boxes and bags of scrap left from my saddle repair work and other leather work many years ago.
I had to clean the old leather and treat it to make it usable.
Buckles are no problem, I have several from old faux leather bands that bit the dust. The buckles being the only good thing about those.

 

I’m Still loving my Fost Mk1 Straps! Especially the one with vivid blue stitching that you made.

I Really like the dark brown and orange!

If I had your tools I would give it a try.I've seen some videos about strap making and I like them a lot.
I have this piece of leather that it would make a great strap.

Wow, those distressed leather straps are amazing! I have neither the patience nor interest to even try, but sure do admire what you've accomplished.

I realised it has been almost a year now since I start this thread ... and i realised also all the mistake I made in this tutorial ... so the best advise for those who want to start or try making leather strap is to practice ... practice and practice again ...

Here is now my best level ... until I will also learned something new ... and i will for sure ...

Hope you tried and used this tutorial to do your own strap !

 

Sure would be nice to see a dark grey distressed leather strap with orange stitching to go with the Ultraman!
