Hello everybody.

Since I'm new here I'll take advantage of Speedy Tuesday to show how to make a two piece strap out of a NATO strap for a DSOTM.

The first part is to cut the NATO strap in two pieces (obviously). You should use the 12h piece of the original strap as a guide for length. You'll need to have a slightly longer piece in order to fold it afterward.


Then you should fold the extra length and stick it after burning the tip with a lighter (or flamethrower if you feel okay with it)


After this part, I'd advice you to sew the fold for added security. I only did it on the black parts.


Now repeat for the other side.

Then to adjust the length of the other strap, you can use a coin as a template and once again burn the tip with the flame of you choice.

I chose to let the metal passers free so I can adjust them however I want to.

@oddboy I don't own a leather NATO strap, but I may try something with a leather rifle strap when I'll get some freetime.
