Hi there,
I have this guy incoming, I just love the look it has.
Even though I’m very confident, especially because of the radium burns, there’s no way this could be an old redial is there?
It all looks correct to me, just wanted a couple other opinions.
Please and thank you in advance.

Oh and… to date this thing, is it the numbers on the caseback or do these old Tudor’s have the serial in between the lugs like usual? thanks!

Looks absolutely fine to me, at least what I can see. I think I'd want to see an oyster patent crown. 1950s. Probably an ETA movement (e.g. 1182). In this era I think the reference number was on the outer case-back and serial inside the case-back. But you probably have the photos that verify this. I don't know of any really reliable serial number charts for this era of Tudor, but I'm sure there are some people who know, e.g. @Linesiders.

I think, at that time, until mid-50s, Tudor used the same (original) rolex numbering system

OP’s looks good to me

i have a 1946-7, 467,xxx serial with the earlier logo ( rose in shield), and a different case shape with lug holes on only one side of case

the rose logo came was used from 1947 to 65

Yours looks like early to mid-50's to me. Here is my 34mm 1952 Solar Aqua King-of-Wings with hands, second track and radium-filled dagger 5 minute markers that are quite similar to yours. I have the full set for this piece with box and date stamped warranty. Solar was Eaton's house brand and their Aqua line of watches were made by Rolex and Tudor. Eaton's was Canada's version of Sears and I have several Solar brand watches.

Yours looks very authentic and is in great condition.

Wow guys thanks for the info and wonderful photos!
Vintage Tudor really are a cool world of their own separate from Rolex.

Really crummy pic I know but I can sort of make out “oyster” something on the crown.

I’m from Canada, definitely remember Eatons. Awesome Solar!

Beautiful!! So you know that because of the serial on the inside of the caseback?

Ah yes, from a quick google an eta 1182 seems quite likely 😀

It will say Oyster Patented on the original crown.

Nope, the serial is stamped onto the case back

Which, according to some charts makes it 1955

the second number on yr caseback is the watch reference number

is there a date stamp inside the case back - ie II 55 for 2Q 1955 or something similar?

Oh great chart thank you, I haven’t received it yet but will post a pic of the inside of the caseback when I can.
‘55 would make sense though. Certainly looks early to mid 50’s 😀
