·Don't think they'll ever "fix" that, it's a conscious design choice by Tudor that's pretty much a hallmark of the Black Bay line at this point.
It's missing off both the 58 and GMT though.
I think they may remove it from the standard BB, given that a lot of people don't care for it.
I'm also wondering if they'll fit the smaller movement into the standard BB given that the thickness is pretty much universally regarded as the major weak point of the full size BBs.

Totally agree with you on that. Maybe a while before they are being put on display to buy on the shop floor but looks like orders being fulfilled quite quickly at the moment.

·Managed to try on someone's pre ordered bb58 last week in Manchester. Wow it is a sooo much thinner, and looked amazballs. One day when I've paid off all these so called limited edition speedys I will get one.

·First on waitlist at my local AD in US (midwest); initially told late July though was updated a few weeks ago that to it would be around October. Called a few other places and told similar story.
In the meantime I actually ordered an Oris [65 bronze bezel--it has a similar appeal IMO ( https://www.fratellowatches.com/oris-divers-sixty-five-bronze-bezel/ )...funny...I initially wanted the BB58 as my go-to tool watch, but after seeing one, I think the Oris (rubber tropic strap) will be the weekend/pool/etc watch and the 58 will offset the work-ware.

·I'm comfortable with my SM300 trilogy on the NATO or leather, but bracelet--and for that matter the watch itself--has too much polished steel to be a weekend tool watch for me...I like the brushed steel for a more 'rugged' usabibility...

·I'm a bit cheesed off now. I was pretty sure the 58 was going to be my first modern diver. I've always liked the BB's but they're just too thick (and it appears I'm the only person on the planet who doesn't like the smiley faces ETA dial).
However, the more I see it, the more the gilt bezel grinds on me. It looks either too faux vintage or like a two tone watch.

Have you seen it in the metal? Everything I've read seems to indicate that the gilt bezel is more subtle in person. Personally I didn't love it at first but it's growing on me a lot. But then again I love those warm gilt accents on my watches. I sold my submariner because it just left me cold with all that black and white...
Edit: Of course you have seen it in the metal, I forgot you were the one that started this thread. 🤦 Either way I'm looking forward to it hitting the states, I'm itching to see it in person.

·yeah i am not turned off by the bezel at all. . .still waiting to hear when these will be in the US
