Trying to understand my Speedy's reference: 3872.50.01

Hello everybody,

I just bought a Speedy and just can't find its reference anywhere. I hope that somebody here can help me. As I'm not writing in English too often it's not that easy for me to express my self, so please excuse if I do mistakes or my language sound strange. 😀

The interesting thing about it is that it has the hesalite on the front glas and the sapphire on the back.
The reference number is 3872.50.01 and the guarantee card says that it was sold in 1997. As it seems to me, it has a 1863 clockwork and it has an engraving on the back that says "First watch on the moon".

Although I found out that there has indeed been a Speedy with the 1863 movement and the sapphire back, I couldn't find this particular reference anywhere. Nevertheless, I called the Omega service and they knew this reference, so at least the ref number won't be faked. 😁

I would really appreciate it, if somebody here could tell me more about this watch.

It seems this watch used to have an unbelievable ugly strap, that looked like a butt crack...

Yes, I found the Ref at (or would you say "on Omega") Omega. It is a very strange leather strap.

It look like the X-33 strap and some reduced Speedmasters straps. It's very ugly and uncomfortable anyway 😀
