Is it even a DON? The dot is barely recognisable.

If you were going to fake a DON perhaps this is the way you would do it? Beaten to hell and barely recognisable.

there are some more indictors ....

Fair enough. Although the other indicators are barely recognisable either...

The dot is at the right place by the 70 for a DON bezel and the accent in Tachymètre is present. Both are well recognizable to use your term 😉

@EdtheAussie that is one unattractive watch and I don't see the point of owning a CB if their characteristic facets are barely noticeable.
I can point you in the direction of where a nice CB is being sold local to you 😉

I am of the same opinion! That one is very nice, but unfortunately out of reach at the moment 😀

I know the example I posted is not good, but what value do you think of it for parts?

I've sold a DON on eBay in equally bad condition at auction for $900 AUD.
As to the tired dial and hands, I wouldn't know where to start

A couple of more photos, still trying to see if there are the remnants of facet lines or not.... or if it has been overpolished in general 👎

Oddly enough the seller has been in touch trying to put a deal together with a GMT Im selling. He’s looking at £4750 ish Mark. Am I about the 5th person this has been offered too? 😲

Was it a straight sale or trade?

It was a straight sale, where did your person say the watch was located?

That is one ugly watch... sorry, just my opinion but maybe it’s the photos... might look better in person but I would pass.

I like patina, but man, that is a lot to deal with. Looks like it has been polished like crazy! I would definitely take the suggestion others have been giving and save your money for a better example.

You won't find any facet lines, no matter how hard you look as it's not a CB mid case.

Do you think it is a 145.012 mid case then - which would make the serial correct?
