Just landed this 168.0062. Anyone knows whether this was originally a brown dial or did it start as a black dial? Reason: I can't find another brown dial 馃榾

And just out of curiosity: anyone knows what this would have cost in 1974 (and especially compared to a Speedy?)

It is original brown - these dials were "en vogue" in the 70ies...

The dial is original.

Unfortunately, I cannot find information for 1974, however I did manage to find a catalogue from a 1976 showing the two-tone version of your Constellation, and a Speedmaster, which comparatively shows how each model was priced. The price in steel for your Constellation was 875 Swiss Francs.

A Speedmaster in 1976 was 575-600 Swiss Francs.

That's right; as far as I know, the Constellation was considered the the flagship of the brand until the Constellation 'Manhattan'.

Well: I can only say that the watch is very solid and impressive.
