Aw, Tom, I was just ribbing you. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and both of our opinions are equally valid.

I'm glad you're here and I'm glad you chime in. Diversity is what makes this hobby interesting.

Tom, you don't have to like the watch...but neither do you have to insult it and everyone else who does.

I don't see any insults, just opinions. I'm with Oddboy on this. How do you even insult a watch?!? 馃榾

I don't mind patina/damage as long as it's relatively even and not too severe. On a tool/everyday watch it can look splendid while on dressier pieces it tends to look bad. On this, I'm abit torn, since IMO a datejust (even a TT) is a bit of both worlds.

This Constellation was recently sold on lauritz.com, and is an example of a dress watch that's been ruined. A number of people have a different opionions, but that's their right 馃榾

@watchknut Congratulations on landing that stunner. Be sure to post pictures when that plexi has had a little polish.

@kyle L nice to see your 1603 again. Is that a JP Menicucci it has on?

Interesting how these sometimes turn browner on one side! Here is my 1603. 馃榾

Maybe yours was worn by an English lorry driver?

I love it because of the Guantanamo Bay and Navy story and the papers to go with it. It's worth the cost just for that.

That is a major improvement. It were mine, I'd get out the Simicrhome and hand-polish the lugs. That would minimize the appearance of the dings while retaining sharpness of the edges... unless it's supposed to be satin. 馃榾
