Are you serious?

Available grip distance on a Speedmaster is approx 0.7mm. You risk chewing that away using a winder.

Slightly different to a fully exposed crown on a Mk2.

I never said that I had a modern or men's Mk 2

Also, since when does plastic wear down steel?

You never said you had a plastic jaw crown winder.

Fair point. It never occurred to me that people would make metal ones for the exact reason that they'd wear down the crown over time.

With the exception of the Bergeon 31409A with the elastomer/rubber tip, all of the crown winders I've seen have metal chucks.

(Hand held/non-powered ones that is)

If you know of any with plastic chucks I'd be interested.

Unfortunately, upon further inspection my crown winder does have metal chucks. Into the bin it goes, sigh.

No need to bin it. I use two metal ones and they do not damage the watch if used properly.

OP send it to me, it’s clearly worthless.

Walk into your nearest Rolex Dealer and demand they sell you a stainless steel Daytona. Have them wind it up, set the time and wear it every day. You’ll only ever need to adjust the time a couple of times a week - problem solved! 😁
