I suspect that with a Mahinda you’d be more likely to need a warranty

Among the negative comments re: Mahindra were comments about the abysmal warranty provided to those with problems! Mahindra also builds “Jeeps” which are clear copies of the real thing. I’m certain that the same warranty complaints would apply there. Mahindra Jeeps, worse than the Stellantis Jeep? Is that even possible?

I learned how to drive a tractor on an old M series IH like the one in the last photo. I was in the third grade and thought it was the best thing ever.

I can honestly say I have never driven a tractor! My education is sadly lacking, driven most things on the planet, even sat on a few tractors but none with the engine running, the closest has been the many ride on lawn tractors I have owned and used.
I had considered buying one to launch my 22 foot speed boat many years ago but found I could get away with using my car on the boat ramp, probably needed one on my last lifestyle block but managed to work around it.
Perhaps a new bucket list item for me or an essential buy if I buy another lifestyle block.

Most fun I've ever had on a tractor (aircraft) was when we were on duty crew late at night.
It was rather boring towing Hercs into the hangar for servicing, but when it was pouring rain, we often volunteered to do the tow ins.

Our sergeant could not understand why we were volunteering while all of the other wimps were in the crew room drinking hot Milo.

Thing is, in the rain, the tarmacs and taxiways were inch deep in water, and me and a mate or two would drive a couple of Hough Paymovers out to, ostensibly, see where the next available park was.

After idling out of the hangar area lights, we would see who could do the best 360s on the "Huffs".
Drifting in a multi-ton piece of government machinery, on wet taxiway, in the rain, in the middle of the night, certainly beat sipping fuckin' Milo.

😁

Photo I found. Ours were yellow.

I was trying to stay out of this as you are not talking commercial tractors but since this got the AI reboot a few posts back, what the hey.

Kubota and Deere are the only tractors worth owning in the commercial space here, not sure about the small home farm models.

I run 3 of these 5100s, own 2, this is the rental we use during main season.

and just because

Confound it, ten minutes ago I was not seized by a desire to get a good deal on a used tractor and now look at me.

My grandfather was an International Harvester factory manager in Baltimore and if I won the lottery an IH pickup would be one of the things I’d blow it on.

My grandad was a shop foreman at an IH dealer. I own two Binders, a 46 and a 52, pickups both.

Grew up on an 8 acre property. First mower I remember was a Gravely with a sulkey, then a one lung International Cub Cadet, last but not least was a pristine restored Ford 8N. Had a rotary pull behind mower. Believe it had a straight 4 cylinder engine. Push button start, soooo quiet and smoothe!!!!! Wish I had some pics!!!

I’ve been shopping for a good used tractor for a couple of months. Just about decided to wait a bit to pull the trigger and then this thread shows up out of nowhere to tempt me again.

My uncle is a now-retired farmer in Vermont. He had a big blue Ford too but it was parked somewhere else.

I wish I could say this Porsche was mine, but alas it belonged to a winery we visited in California. The wife unit tried to keep me off it, but she relented and took the photo.
