Tornado Warning - Which Watch Do You Wear?

A good question. If the tornado hits, it may become your only watch, if you make it.

It should handle foul weather in case of an evacuation and your « Go Bag » should be holding more essential items instead of a watch collection.

So, to me, it needs to be rugged and still be something that I enjoy wearing.

Tonight, under the current tornado warning, I pulled out the Speedmaster FOIS.

Yes Submariner for me too. Helps that it is also my most valuable - and probably the most bomb proof.

Oh, I'm an expert on this one! The answer is grab your closest watch and run, run, run. The top photo is a "sidewinder" tornado that came right past my daughter's farm. The bottom two photos were taken during a Kansas State University football game. The game was stopped when they thought it was likely going to become a tornado, but it didn't happen.

They'd be scared and alone. We ride tornadoes out in the basement...no one gets left behind.

If a tornado 🌪 is going to hit my house my preferred wrist watch is the least of my worries.

This because it has ground-to-air signal codes on the back. And it’s heavy. I could probably use it as a hammer or throw it at an enemy.

Tornado warnings are a regular occurence around here. So is wearing a watch.

Whatever I'm wearing. Personal possessions are way down the list for me.

I've lived in Oklahoma for the past 35 years now, in both the NE and SW corners, so I can claim to be somewhat familiar with naders. But, if we're being honest, I have a tendency to watch bad weather from the yard. I haven't taken to the fraidy hole because of the sirens in a long, long time. And, that may be the death of me some day.

Edit: If I had to save just one watch. It would be my great grandad's Illinois.

I don't have any safe place to go, so I would probably sleep through it. But if I did, I'd grab the cat first.

My Seamaster off course, it will survive even if I dont. Luckily we dont have tornadoes in Norway, altough we do get some hairy weather from time to time.

That’s a solid choice. The FOIS is rugged enough for the situation while still being something you’d actually enjoy wearing. Stay safe with that tornado warning.

How close does a tornado have to get to Archer on the tennis court before he runs for cover?

Archer and his wife are hardcore. (When Chuck Norris was a boy, he wore Archer pyjamas).

Probably pretty close.

The warnings that hit us often allow me time to send him a heads up.

If he responds quickly to my messages he’s home. Otherwise he’s on the courts.

I’d be more concerned about my choice of clothing. My first choice would be my light fall suit 😃.
