Happy holidays all! This just came in today. It was an eBay impulse buy - half gut, half educated guess. The pictures were a little blurry and it was an unassuming seller. I saw the unique lugs, solid looking movement, and applied numerals, and at $650, I was willing to take the risk. Now I'm torn torn though.

Good news - The 35mm 18k gold case is well preserved and unlike any I've seen. I mean, how could anyone not love those lugs? Also, the applied numerals are a very nice touch (shoutout to the shy 10). Also also, the movement runs smooth as butter.

Bad news - I'm nearly certain the dial is refinished. Not the worst, but definitely far from the best.

The Question - Should I send it back? The seller accepts returns and I have 14 days. Is it worth getting a better redial? If so, from where? I'll also need to do some research to find an original reference.

I also think it's a redial, that second track is a bit too rough to be original and the script is a tad 'off' looking to me.

If it were mine and I loved the case the way you seem to, I'd wear it for a few days and see if the dial bugs you. If not keep it.

I would send it back. While the case is neat, the refinished dial may bother you in the future and selling it will be more difficult.

Thanks! I do love the case but the dial certainly bugs me. If I keep it, I'd want to get the dial properly refinished.

Thanks for the feedback. I think that's probably going to be the outcome unless I decide to go for the proper redial and keep it for the long run.
