Sharp like the edges of the new 3861? You hear these rumours but it is subjective I suspect.

I heard the case back is really sharp, is it true?
Heard this a few times now, never notice it when on my wrist. Feels same as any other Speedy I own with the normal case back.

Proper photos will always do this watch justice

I love it on the 3861 bracelet. What size wrist do you have?

Very subjective, but not at all in my experience. It feels just like my CK2998. Not sharp at all.

I tried it on, it's perfectly comfortable.

No doubt the Rising Sun is a different looking Speedmaster with the textured dial and red tachy insert instead of the usual black theme. It's an attractive watch. Like everyone else I've been watching the prices move upward. On Sunday night I found a BNIB, never worn example with box, papers and all the stickers intact at an online dealer in the US. I have a few watches that I will be liquidating over the next year so on Monday morning I negotiated a trade deal with the dealer for one of my watches which netted me the Rising Sun plus some money back to me. Easy deal, they emailed me a prepaid FedEx label on Monday morning, they get the trade-in watch on Tuesday, and I get the Omega today, Wednesday. Haven't even tried it on yet but here is the obligatory picture. I'll probably put it on a leather strap of some sort because I'm not that much of a bracelet fan. My calculation shows I paid just shy of $10,000 after taking my trade-in into consideration. I think that is pretty close to the going price now for a never worn, BNIB example. IIRC the Japan price in 2018 was 693,000 yen, or about US $6350. So the price has moved up about 57% since then, a nice bump but nothing really crazy.

My mission now is to get a strap made since I'm not that much of a bracelet guy.

Wear in good health. The more pictures I see on here, the better that watch looks. Definitely one of the better LEs of the past few years.

I just received my Rising Sun. She’s an absolute beauty, though I need to have some links removed. Purchased mine from a dealer in Japan through Chrono24 for less than $8,500 all in. BNIB with a warranty date of 9/26/2021.

Congratulations on your amazing acquisition! I just recently purchased the green variation of the watch and love it.
It took me by surprise with how the tokyo speedies have a little more heft to them don't you think?

I’ve no basis for comparison, as this is my first Speedy, and first Omega in over a decade. Was just smitten with this one, and had to have (and keep) it.

And thanks and congrats to you, too!

I see, well you made an excellent first choice. These Speedies are a bit heavier, but with the adjustable clasp it makes the different in heft totally worth it.

Congratulations on your purchase. I wonder how long it will take before someone comments on it.

Very nice. Good price, too. I'm waiting on a strap from Aaron Bespoke before I wear mine.

Did it by any chance appear in his recently started production of the day insta posts?

He showed a very nice red python skin (raw) recently in his insta stories IIRC.
