Do you have any pictures you can share?
No, I don't, but it was somebody here on OF that had the hands changed.

It's not for everyone (as for any watch) but the combo of the burgundy bezel, the dial and silver hands are *chefs kiss* to me. I have some other special LE Speedys but the Rising Sun feels the most premium. It was one of the few times a watch was substantially better in person than on the many photos we drool over pre-purchase. Depending on the lighting the whole watch changes and I love it.

Regardless - happy you found a new home for it OP, now you can make some room for something more suitable for your collection 😉

I really need to see one in the flesh… have been on the lookout to add it in the collection for quite some time now, but I was still unable to see one… 🙁 and that is one of the models you cannot order without seeing live, seems like a love/hate monster… 😟

Am also surprised to see so few on a strap… is it difficult to pair?

It should not be. Any strap that fit the 1861/63 Moonwatch will work.

Yes of course, but I meant more color-wise?

I've been HEAVILY considering buying the REM Fretello white/red strap to go with my Rising Sun, but am also considering a custom white-ish leather (maybe python or ostrich) with red accents from Vietnam. In my head they all look cool, but not dure if that means they actually WILL! But I've not really seen many strap pics for this watch, other than a red one on Instagram.

Red and grey are the two colors that go well with this watch, maybe white, but I don't think tan, brown or beige does much, and black is just too severe. And forget things like blue or green. I had an Aaron Bespoke grey ostrich strap made for mine with a splash of burgundy to tie it together. I think this is one Speedmaster that looks better on a leather strap, the dial is so unique that it gets washed out with the standard steel bracelet and the dial should be the focal point on this watch.

Might work, but I find white or very light straps get dirty too quickly.

Yes, keeping it clean is a bit of a worry but I'm not expecting to wear it too often (the watch hasn't come out of its box yet or has bracelet resized).

Watcha think of these.....

I like the material, but I'm not sure about the stitching. The first one is too busy, and I don't know what happened to the second one to cause the stitching to have breaks in it.

Break that watch out, have it sized if you are going to wear it occasionally on the bracelet, and enjoy it. Once you wear it you'll get more ideas on what kind of leather strap might look good on it.

I know, I know.... but the original plan was to save it for my wedding day! Until then I can wear my other Speedies.
