I predict you'll be showing up here by the end of January with the black dial Tokyo on your wrist. Sell the regular Speedmaster to help fund the purchase. Tick tock.

Actually thinking about selling the 3861 to help fund the 321 Ed White. But holding off to see what Omega has up their sleeves for new 2022 additions or LE's

I did a little band switching today.
The Rising

Proper photos will always do this watch justice

Inspired by @Spikedlee's post I decided to fo a little band swapping.
Installed my 3861 bracelet on my Rising Sun, loving the refined look of it. Gives the RS that Canopus Gold vibe.
Also Installed my Omega Racing Strap on my Tokyo Panda. Really digging the Heritage Racing look it has.
My 3861 received a Omega rubber strap. My first experience with a rubber strap and I'm impressed with the all day comfort.

This one doesn’t get as much wrist time as my Speedy Pro, but it hasn’t lost it spot in the rotation, especially with the 3861 bracelet.

Ahhh the white dials of the Speedmaster 🥰
The Rising Sun, The Albino, Snoopy#2... and the Canopus Gold now... they are all remarkable imho and I am totally in love with them. The wite dial is such a contrast vs standard black dial that it makes it super irresistible for me.

"White" is pretty loosely used to describe lighter colored dials on the Speedmaster but each one presents itself differently in person, and pictures can be deceiving. The Rising Sun dial isn't white at all, rather a grained silver texture. The Albino and a couple of others are a creme color, Snoopy 2 is very white like the Alaska's, other models like the Apollo 11 35th and Mitsukoshi are more of an opaline silver color. But only a few are truly white.

Had the rising Sun on the wrist and always thought before that the dial is more white. But as seen in this thread it is more greyish. So i will Stick to my Mitsukoshi mod With the silver/white dial

The Tokyo Panda is pearlescent white-silver, like the Mitsu … though perhaps a bit more pearlescent and dial depth than the Mitsu

Excuse my poor skills in colour naming - I tend to be over simplistic when it comes to shades of white, ecru, cream, silverish, pearl, etc... let me only say that I am very much in love with the white-ish/ light coloured dials of Speedmasters - like the ones I mentionned earier. I hope I did not offend anyone's taste of colour naming and its accuracy 👍

Here's a side by side of both Tokyo Panda and Rising Sun. Probably my two favorite Omega's in the collection. Both a pleasure to wear.

As much as I love the Rising Sun, I’m coming to accept that the hands and markers on the dial just don’t provide enough contrast for my aging eyes.

It’s not my daily wearer, but does see regular playing time. Unfortunately I don’t think that’s going to last.

it and Tokyo both are far from ideal readability
