Gaman taikai begins at 09:05 with the following endurance results:-
Nipped it up a bit tighter after about 4.5 hours as not much was happening
As much as some like to mock display case backs, I find the sapphire quite comfortable against the skin. On the sapphire sandwich Speedmasters the curved back acts almost like a suction cup, keeping the watch in place without needing to have the bracelet or strap too tight. Only time it feels a bit weird (subjective of course) is on hotter days and you're sweating onto the sapphire. Then again, steel doesn't feel great either and that's where titanium shines for comfort.
I wouldnt want to mod a brand new watch with 5 years warranty, but honesly i already thought of swapping the caseback, for whatever is flat enough. But they cost an arm and leg as well..
I wonder if Omega would assist and thereby retaining the warranty? Easy enough if they have a service centre on sight. They're not as prickly as Rolex when it comes to these things (Rolex would be a flat out No). I've never asked so can't comment further unfortunately.
