You would think that given the current situation which we all find ourselves in that the Japanese boutiques would be more flexible and just ship the damn watches. I ran into the same problem personally and had to pass up getting one of these because I can't fly there now.

@Longbow, where did you buy your Olympic speedmaster from anyway? I'm considering buying one but don't know a trusted AD or seller that has these models. Any suggestions?

There's one available from Vintage Speedmaster currently.

Gaman taikai begins at 09:05 with the following endurance results:-

Nipped it up a bit tighter after about 4.5 hours as not much was happening
You are not alone!
I am wearing my newly acquired FOIS and have the same problem 👎
i really enjoy it, but the caseback is sh!t, never had such a problem with any other watch..

Put it on a NATO for now..

As much as some like to mock display case backs, I find the sapphire quite comfortable against the skin. On the sapphire sandwich Speedmasters the curved back acts almost like a suction cup, keeping the watch in place without needing to have the bracelet or strap too tight. Only time it feels a bit weird (subjective of course) is on hotter days and you're sweating onto the sapphire. Then again, steel doesn't feel great either and that's where titanium shines for comfort.

I wouldnt want to mod a brand new watch with 5 years warranty, but honesly i already thought of swapping the caseback, for whatever is flat enough. But they cost an arm and leg as well..

Edit:
My caseback was actually so sharp on the inner edge that i brought it to the AD and the watchmaker softened the edge a bit. It surely wears more comfortable now but nevertheless leaves an imprint.

I dont understand why Omega would do such a thing. It seems there are a few people with this issue.

I wonder if Omega would assist and thereby retaining the warranty? Easy enough if they have a service centre on sight. They're not as prickly as Rolex when it comes to these things (Rolex would be a flat out No). I've never asked so can't comment further unfortunately.

I did ask them to order a service caseback for a pre moon speedy. The AD manager actually was about to make an order, but then went to the watchmaker for an advice, and watchmaker, said he would advice against swapping casebacks. So she offered to soften the edge a bit. It did get better, but i dont like the caseback anyways.
They are an official service center, so i am afraid if watchmaker advices against it, they will not do it.

Bummer 🙁. At least they tried to make it slightly more comfortable.
