To relume a watchco or not?

I’ve been wearing my watchco now for about a week. At first it actually felt a little too ‘new’ for me. My most modern watch until this one is from ‘72 so having a watch with working lume and proper water resistance is strange.

But it’s growing on me and I’m happy that I didn’t get it relumed. Vintage lume is for my vintage watches and this one is not that. It’s a vintage feel with modern functionally.

I still can’t get myself to hold it under running water or wear it showering though. I was at the sea today though and it started raining a bit. So it has seen a bit of action and I was weirdly excited about not tugging my watch under the sleeve of my jacket. 😵‍💫

They really need to bring this watch back. I keep circling back to thinking it’s one of the nicest watches I’ve ever seen.

Glad you're enjoying it. I once liked the fauxtina and wanted all my new watches to look like old watches Then once I really stated collecting old watches, I realized that I wanted my new watches to be what they are and not try to be what they aren't.

And real water resistance is nice indeed. I got stuck in a freak summer torrent a few weeks ago (soaked to the underclothes) and was so glad I wasn't wearing one of my snap-back 40's pieces.

Congrats! Mine has been in the pool and it's still ticking just fine. Enjoy in good health.

To me that is a very different watch. I don’t find the new one very attractive.

Not a fan of that either. I think it’s the wide numbers on the bezel and the curvature that is putting me off.

And they look to modern 😁

You’re joking right
Not sure why you would say that. The 2254 is clearly very derivative of the 60s twisted lug SM300.
