I will have only been away from Home for about 10 days, so the Mrs is going to be thrilled when I tell her I am out on the 21st..:whipped:

Blame it all on "this idiot that I know who once dressed like a Cookie Monster"... I'll take the heat. 🙄

Yep.

Name tags, sign in on arrival, and we've got to check ID for everyone (even the people I've met before).

Shit got real.

whats the I.D required... will a Speedmaster do?

Just some photo ID (Drivers License?) - sticking to the same deal Fellows do with their viewings as there are people coming that I haven't met... so it's good to know exactly who was in the room, just in case anything should go awry. 😎

It's also less of a ball ache if everyone gets treated the same, and I don't have to explain to some people why they're showing ID when others aren't. 👍

The Fellows team will be helping to sign people in too... and they don't know you bunch of reprobates like I do. 😗

I realise it's a bit of a ball ache, but as this grows from 5 of us in a pub, to nearly 50 of us in a pub, things have to be adjusted slightly for everyone's safety.

Hey guys, unfortunately gonna have to bail tonight, fallen quite ill. Hope the event is a tremendous success and all of you have a fantastic time. Hopefully I'll have the pleasure of meeting some of you at the next event.

Great job in organising, Chris - question; is it possible or desirable to show a list on Eventbrite of who is already registered? I'm sure I've had that on other self-registered sites but can't recall which one...

Thanks! I've worked in marketing for the last 9 years, with a particular lean towards event marketing... so playing to my own strengths here buddy 😉

It is possible.

I made the decision that posting up the full names of watch collectors on the internet would be a bad thing... security and all that jazz.

Following feedback from the last couple of events, where there were more than a handful of us in the room - everyone will have a name badge tonight, so you will know who you're talking to, and if it gets to tomorrow and you wish you'd exchanged details with someone, but forgotten to, as long as you remember their name, I'll be able to put you in touch with each other.

Makes sense - I was thinking that if you needed to be approved to register, then it would be feasible to only show the names of attendees to others who've already registered... but that's maybe overcomplicating things. Name badges will be a great start - as long as the beer doesn't obscure the memory of the badges 😀

It's possible to set restrictions on who can see an eventbrite page, but as I want to grow the event, that wouldn't be the best option.

To keep things simple, no one's details get shared anywhere. 😉

I can get you lot to the pub - I can't stop you drinking yourselves into oblivion.
