Thrift Store Universal Geneve

A couple of weeks ago my wife took me with her while she went thrift store exploring. I made the best of it and actually found a Universal Geneve in a pile of costume jewelry and paid a whopping $3.00 dollars for it. The crystal was broken and it wasn't working.

After a couple (OK four) wrong crystal replacements, I finally found the correct one and did a quick movement cleaning and now she both works and looks good! Needs a better strap (preferably black) and she's ready to go out on the town!

These are the best kinds of finds! Congrats and enjoy!

Cal 263? Screw or snap back? 34mm? Looks like an Outdoorsman.

I got the black strap/band on it and I think it looks pretty good.

Great find, good looking watch for 3 bucks! I think every collection needs an old patina-ed watch like this. I prefer the brown to the black strap, but you wear it how you like it!

a good rule of thumb on these is cal 263 have “no tail” seconds hand, and cal 267 have tails

267. Screw back with Magnetism shield. I believe it is an Outdoorsman as well, but I'm no expert.

Great find! Wish thrift stores were open up here in Canada.
