Great original example already discussed on the forum, it's only missing a radium dot at 1 o'clock

I get why you are suspicious. Spacing and fonts are correct. I’d want to see better pics before buying but inclined to think it ok. Cleaned retouched dial? Dunno. Seller I clearly pricing it as original. They are not fly by night.

I never got into Tris, so for my own education, why is the font in the hour subregister much bolder/thicker? Is that normal in Tri-compax? Doesn’t seem to be the case with regular Compax.

Sorry to add redundancy to the thread - I could not locate where it was discussed before. Do you happen to know where it was?

Thank you for the response Larry - yes exactly because the price is so high its something I would like to study to understand where the seller is coming from, price point wise.

It’s the photos. I just scrolled thru to some with more natural light and the watch is correct.

Condition, Condition, Condition.........$12k for the smaller 285. 🤨

Good luck with negotiations.

best to post pics not links. The links will be dead at some point and then this thread is useless.

I don't see any issues, only thing I'm not sure about is the lume, particularly the hands. It's extremely homogenous, but I can't tell either way.

I used to own this watch from true NOS. When I took it in for service through Analog Shift, they completely botched it. Pretty heartbroken at the time so I may have blocked the memory partially since this was back in 2016/2017, but either the minute hand or both hands had to be relumed. The dial was damaged and the original crystal got lost somehow. All other parts are correct.

It was a stunning thing.

Wow … Nice to hear from one of the old guard. I still own your former 22242.

Oh nice! That was the watch that got me deep into UG. Glad you are enjoying it. I took a long hiatus from vintage watch collecting, but I've been getting the itch again. Funny to see this watch on my first day back on OF 😅
