Thoughts on this Zenith A277

Hi,
I have been on the hunt for a Zenith A277 for some time now and have found one at a reasonable price. It‘s a MK1 with a gay freres 3-68 bracelet (fliplock unfortunately not original).
what do you think about it ? Anything that doesn’t look right and would be a reason to stay away?

thanks in advance for your help.

help us to help you. "Reasonable" is too unspecific to assess if the watch is worth it.

I don't see any red flags, as long as the price is commensurate with the condition. Although the case looks clean, overall the watch looks quite tired to me.

I would probably buy it for this money

I guess we could each find the watch on C24. Or the OP can just note the asking price here, to get the best advice.

Looks correct. Comes down to how much it appeals to you and whether the price reflects the obvious flaws in condition.

Although the case looks clean
clean = polished?

Seems I am too stupid to find it... 🙁

That's more than I would pay for a mediocre watch.

Condition seems 'ok' for an example if you aren't looking for museum level, and it's not so tired as to be unappealing IMHO, but if the seller wants to move it I'd expect a significant amount of wiggle room in that asking price.

Let us know what happens!

I should be able to get my hands on it this week. I am definitely not looking for a museum quality watch, just something „honest“. I’ll keep you updated.
Thanks for your opinions so far.

I didn’t see the original listing but if there are not any movement shots don’t forget to confirm it has a 146H under the hood...

Sure it needs a service (see the hours counter), the watch is all correct, crown, end links, hands...
The photos are poor quality, it could be better than it seems. It’s difficoult to understand the real conditions of the dial.
I would ask some better photos and a picture of movement, than I would try to get a discount.
Serviced with a little clean of dial, polished glass and a new dot it could be nice, if you like the gost bezel.
Only 20mm bracelet with zf end links cost about 1 k or more

Just received some further pictures of the watch/movement. there is a 146HP inside which doesn't really ma ke sense if it is supposed to be MK1 right?

Have there been MK1 with 146HP movements? Perhabs later productions models of the MK1?

Not sure if this is an accepted possibility in terms of “correctness.” Seems like a logical possibility especially from what I have read about zenith practices in the late ‘60s, but that doesn’t make it true. Perhaps others here or on other forums with more knowledge can add to this. If you learn anything more elsewhere, please post it here.

Total dealbraker for me would be the dirty subdials
The case has definitely seen some polishing as well but the pics make it hard to ascertain the extent.
