    Hello forum members,

I am being offered a 5513 that seems very attractive to my untrained eye, I must confess I have never owned a Rolex sub and hence my knowledge and experience on them is quite limited.

The pictures are crap but hopefully can help assess the watch. From what I can see it is a 5513 case but the dial has 4 lines which I believe are supposed to be only in the 5512. Again I am saying this with very limited knowledge so any input would be greatly appreciated, asking price is 9k and it will probably be sold quickly.

Thanks in advance for sharing your insight

It's not uncommon to have a 5513 back on a 5512. However, it looks like it says 63 in the case-back, which would go with a gilt gloss dial, and the dial looks matte. What does the case say between the lugs, 5513? The insert is a much later service part. Does the serial say 9xxxxx? That would be consistent with 1963 and the case seems to have pointed crown guards. Overall, it's seeming like someone put a late '60s 5512 dial into a 1963 5513 case, with a much later insert. The correct insert can be found at some expense, but it would be very hard (and extremely expensive) to find the right dial for that watch.

Case looks pretty worn. 9k in what currency? What's the bracelet?
